What do you wish you knew when you first became a landlord?
What to put in a contract, sounds simple but can cause so many issues
I wish I knew how easy it was for lots of little costs to become a large overall cost, like plumber call outs, little repair jobs, even the length of time it takes to prepare all the paperwork for things like deposits, inventories and inspections.
That I should have started way before 100% mortgages stopped! 🙁
I wish I’d known quite how many legal obligations are placed on landlords
That you cant believe everything the so called experts say as often they have a vested interest in property themselves
also not to assume that the council knows what its talking about
i went to the rla as they just give me direct unbiased information and they send me out information regularly about everything i need to be aware of
so i can just get on with it – no stress traumas of making me doubt myself (posted by Lesley Findlay on Facebook)
